class bruhanimate.bruheffect.perlin_effect.PerlinEffect(buffer: Buffer, background: str, settings: PerlinSettings | None = None)[source]

Bases: BaseEffect

Smooth animated noise field.

Multiple octaves of sine-wave interference are combined to produce fractal-like smooth noise that scrolls and pulses over time. A configurable threshold gates which parts of the field are drawn, controlling density. Color maps noise intensity through a heat palette when enabled.

__init__(buffer: Buffer, background: str, settings: PerlinSettings | None = None)[source]

Base class for all effects.

Parameters:
  • buffer (Buffer) – Effect buffer to push updates to.

  • background (str) – character or string to use for the background.

  • seed – Non-negative integer for independent Python and NumPy random streams. None uses fresh entropy. Global RNG state is untouched.

update(dt: float) → None[source]

Advance one simulation tick; dt is measured in seconds.

resize(size: tuple[int, int]) → None[source]

Rebuild sampling coordinates, retaining phase and seeded offsets.
